Remote Desktop Service:

For those of you whose computer I service, I am now utilizing remote desktop. This allows me to work on your computer from mine saving me coming to you or you dropping off your computer here.
In order for this to work you need to download and load a program. Go here and download AMMYY Admin v3 (exe). When you install it and if your AV is Microsoft Security Essentials, you will receive a warning - this is a false positive so you can "allow" the program to run.
When you download/run the program you will notice this prompt.
When the program starts up you will then see another prompt giving you an ID Number as indicated in the graphic below. The number displayed is unique and you will need to telephone me and give it to me. Don't press anything else on that prompt!

I then enter your ID number on my computer and the connection between the two computers begins. You will next receive another prompt which gives me permission to engage your computer.

Now you get to sit back and watch me work your desktop from my computer - just like a game of bridge, you're the dummy and I'm your partner. You can go sit in the kitchen, drink coffee or watch your favourite soap opera - when I'm finished I terminate at my end. We can then discuss what I did on the telephone. If you are family you can start baking those butter tarts you know you want to make me. If you're not family, we've already discussed the service charge.
