Interesting Web Pages

I don't watch a lot of television but quite often it's on for background noise. In October I noticed a new promotion being pushed by the Federal Government. If you are interested in conserving energy and keeping some of your hard earned money in your pocket, you might want to visit www.climatechange.gc.ca.

I've done a lot of work on a web page for an organization here on Manitoulin over the past several months and I have to admit that the Northern Ontario Aquaculture Association website is looking pretty slick. The fine folks over there and researchers are coming out with evidence that fish, Omega 3 actually, is looking pretty good as a preventative measure for Alzheimer's Disease - there's hope for me yet.

November is voting time all across Ontario. Every municipality is having a horse race for Mayor, Reeve, Councillor, whatever. Here on Manitoulin, Ken Noland is asking for your support once again to serve as your Reeve. He's being contested by a summer resident - I really don't see why this individual is running, but he's allowed to run so good luck to him. Two of our current councillors are back for re-election with three others vying for four positions.
I've written a web page for a mayoral candidate down in Fort Erie who is a close friend of my brother. I wish him and all the other fine folks who are running province-wide the best of luck. This time around the term has been extended to four years - that's a long committment to public life for anyone to make. Be sure to exercise your right to vote on November 13th.

Speaking of my brother, I've been his webmaster for several years for his Council on World Affairs Canada web page, a non-profit that has been serving the youth of Niagara for many years. I've put a lot of time and energy into this web page having given it a complete redesign when I took it over.
Finally, they've decided to expand to a printed magazine and the website can be seen here - lots of excellent reading there.
