Open Source Saves You Money
The Simple Dollar is a blog for those of us who need both cents and sense: people fighting debt and bad spending habits while building a financially secure future and still affording a latte or two. Our busy lives are crazy enough without having to compare five hundred mutual funds - we just want simple ways to manage our finances and save a little money.
The site was created in October 2006 as an outlet for the author’s deepening investigation into matters of personal finance. The author, Trent, nearly went bankrupt early in 2006 before realizing that he needed to take ahold of his finances or be left behind in a mire of debt and despair. As time went on, it became very clear that even though many of the methods for saving and managing money were simple, the volume of information available was nearly overwhelming. Thus, The Simple Dollar was born.
The Simple Dollar lists thirty essential pieces of software for windows that you should have.
