One Man's Opinion
James Travers writes for the Toronto Star. His story was picked up by the Hamilton Spec where Old Jimbo,obviously a Liberal, writes:
Something strange and troubling is happening in the national capital. A minority government behaving like a majority is creating an alternate universe where weak is strong and the will of Parliament is merely a suggestion.
Are the opposition parties willing to force an election over principles voters may not consider a ballot question? How many voices will join Supreme Court Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin in reminding that judges and their courts must be strong and free enough to ensure governments honour the Constitution?
In the absence of that courage, this capital will slide farther into the alternate universe Conservatives are busily creating.
Hey Jimbo - when Paul Martin and Jean Chretien were lying to us and stealing our money to give to friends in Quebec, was that when the universe was in its right orbit? Just wondering ....say, do you make up this stuff on your own or do you have a friend in Ottawa that counsels you?
