POKO on your Desktop originated in Brantford, Ontario when I was working with The Ministry of Corrections. The life of a jail guard is either fast-paced and bloody during and after a physical altercation or dull and snail-paced where you get sick of counting the holes in ceiling tiles. I, like the other guards working with me, kept myself busy with different things. Some ran around with football and hockey stats that they used in their Fantasy Leagues. One fellow worked with wood building little telephones. Others had pc's and talked about computers. The computer thing worked for me and soon I was building web pages and before long I started up a small business on the side with my brother . I had a domain and what seemed like the perfect opportunity to throw something up on the internet that might be handy to other people. Thus was born - POKO on your Desktop.
